The Warriors (6-1) won their sixth game in nine days by beating the Maryknoll Spartans (1-6) at Ala Wai Community Park on Tuesday.
Through the first two scoreless innings, starting pitcher Javyn Pimental allowed just one hit and plunked one batter. Pimental struggeled after striking out the first two batters of the third inning walked the next two batters and hit a third to load up the bases. After a mound visit by pitching coach Jayson Kramer, Pimental settled down and got the final out of the inning by striking out the next batter. The fourth inning was somewhat uneventful; Pimental struck out the first batter, walked the next, but forced a ground ball to short allowing his defense to turn an inning ending double play.
The feisty Spartans took advantage of the Warriors pitching changes, two Warrior errors, and a hit batter accumulating six hits and five runs in the final three innings of the game.
The Warrior offense was able to score 11 runs on 10 hits, eight walks, and one hit batter. Final score Kamehameha 11 Maryknoll 5.
