PUNAHOU : 1
The Warriors (2-1) continued their trek through the ILH Division 1 Baseball season with another win, this time beating the Punahou Buffanblu (3-1) in six innings. Punahou was unable to contain the offensive barrage of the Warriors allowing 11 hits, one of which appeared to be a homerun.
Kalamaku Kuewa, 3-4, 2 doubles, 2 RBI, 2 runs appeared to have hit a two out solo homerun over the 330 feet deep left field fence on field two at Patsy Mink Central O‘ahu Regional Park. However, the umpire declared the hit a ground rule double because he saw the ball "bounce over the fence." The downgraded homerun did not really matter. The next batter up, catcher Dylan Salcedo, hit a single up the left side scoring Kuewa from second.
Hunter Breault continued his success on the mound throwing just 67 pitches and striking out eight in five innings. He allowed runners on base just four times, but two of those runners were negated when they were caught stealing by Salcedo. Kamaha‘o Arita came in in relief in the sixth for the Warriors and never went back out for the seventh as the Warrior offense scored three more times in the bottom of the inning to make the score 11-1.
